Deep blue, mineral and ever-changing with the light, Drapée Azurite is a one-of-a-kind ceramic wall sculpture, entirely shaped and glazed by hand in my studio.

This version of Azurite features a compact, almost square silhouette, sculpted into deep organic folds that give the ceramic the movement and softness of fabric frozen in clay.

Across its sculptural surface, shades of smoky blue, slate blue, cobalt and deep indigo blend together. The glaze shifts between matte, velvety areas, glossy reflections and delicate crystallisations, creating an abstract, almost mineral landscape directly on the ceramic.

Depending on the light and the angle from which it is viewed, some areas become soft and misty, while others reveal much more intense blues and intricate crystalline details. The depth of the folds also casts shadows onto the wall, allowing the piece to subtly evolve throughout the day.

Each Drapée is individually shaped by hand. The movement of the clay, the application of the glazes and their transformation during firing can never be reproduced exactly: every piece is truly unique.

With its palette of deep blues and strong sculptural presence, Azurite naturally finds its place in a contemporary or minimalist interior, or in a space filled with carefully curated objects and artworks.

INSTALLATION

Drapée Azurite is designed as a true wall sculpture. Its three-dimensional folds extend away from the wall in places, naturally casting shadows that enhance its sculptural character.

Due to the depth and complexity of the glaze, its colours, reflections and crystalline effects naturally shift depending on the surrounding light and viewing angle.

Azurite has been photographed under different lighting conditions and in close-up to represent these variations as faithfully as possible.

As every Drapée is individually shaped by hand, it bears the subtle irregularities and variations inherent to an original handcrafted artwork. These are an integral part of its character and uniqueness.

SHIPPING

This piece is already made and ready to ship. It will be carefully packaged in my studio in Portugal to ensure it travels safely to its new home.

HANDMADE DRAPED CERAMICS: THE VARIATIONS THAT MAKE EACH PIECE IRREPLACEABLE

I shape each piece by hand in my studio in Portugal. The draping, stroke by stroke, captures a movement in the clay. The glaze, meanwhile, reacts to the firing in a way that even I cannot fully control.

It is precisely this that guarantees that no one, anywhere, will have exactly the same piece.

The sculptural draping is Clay'Milie's recognizable visual signature.

Each fold, each relief is the result of a unique and unrepeatable gesture.

The variations in glaze, color, gloss, and gradation are unique to this firing process.

Does the piece really look as good as it does in the photo?

I’ve taken care to photograph each piece in lighting that’s as close to real life as possible. The dimensions are accurate, and you can see how the pieces look in real interiors in the gallery. If you’re not sure, do drop me a line on WhatsApp — I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

What if the part is damaged upon delivery?

I prepare each parcel using reinforced packaging designed for ceramics. In the unlikely event of damage upon receipt, please contact me within 48 hours with photos, and I will find a solution.

Can I return my order?

One-off pieces are original creations that cannot be replicated. I encourage you to ask me any questions you may have before confirming your order — I’m available on WhatsApp to help you choose with confidence.
