A tea ritual cup inspired by Japanese tea gestures, with a rounded shape and a dark metallic glaze.


Komari was imagined as a quiet cup, made to be held slowly between the hands.


Its rounded, soft and compact shape invites you to slow down. It accompanies simple gestures: preparing tea, enjoying matcha, taking a moment for yourself, or simply appreciating a beautiful object in everyday life.


Made from black clay, Komari is covered with a brown metallic glaze, scattered with subtle speckled nuances. Depending on the light, its surface reveals deep reflections, almost storm-like, between mineral gold, metallic brown and soft shifting highlights.


Minimal yet expressive, Komari can be used as:

– a tea cup

– a tasting cup

– a matcha bowl

– a small ritual object

– a decorative piece


Its deep reflective glaze gives it an atmospheric presence, somewhere between functional cup and sculptural object.

Dishwasher safe.

To preserve the glaze’s shine over time, hand washing is still recommended.

    The glaze decides. I never do it the same way again.

    HANDMADE DRAPED CERAMICS: THE VARIATIONS THAT MAKE EACH PIECE IRREPLACEABLE

    I shape each piece by hand in my studio in Portugal. The draping, stroke by stroke, captures a movement in the clay. The glaze, meanwhile, reacts to the firing in a way that even I cannot fully control.

    It is precisely this that guarantees that no one, anywhere, will have exactly the same piece.

    The sculptural draping is Clay'Milie's recognizable visual signature.

    Each fold, each relief is the result of a unique and unrepeatable gesture.

    The variations in glaze, color, gloss, and gradation are unique to this firing process.

    Does the piece really look as good as it does in the photo?

    I’ve taken care to photograph each piece in lighting that’s as close to real life as possible. The dimensions are accurate, and you can see how the pieces look in real interiors in the gallery. If you’re not sure, do drop me a line on WhatsApp — I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

    What if the part is damaged upon delivery?

    I prepare each parcel using reinforced packaging designed for ceramics. In the unlikely event of damage upon receipt, please contact me within 48 hours with photos, and I will find a solution.

    Can I return my order?

    One-off pieces are original creations that cannot be replicated. I encourage you to ask me any questions you may have before confirming your order — I’m available on WhatsApp to help you choose with confidence.

    I would like a similar item but in a different color, is that possible?
