Warm, rich and expressive, LIA XS - Red Wine explores different shades of red through a composition inspired by wine, earth and natural pigments.

Its four stoneware medallions are entirely shaped by hand and bring together a palette of terracotta, burgundy, plum and deep red.

At the heart of the composition, the reactive Plum glaze develops unpredictable nuances and organic markings during firing, adding texture and movement among the deeper surrounding tones.

Connected by delicate gold-tone rings and suspended from a round gold-tone wall mount, the medallions create a warm, sculptural composition with an almost jewelry-like quality.

Designed for smaller spaces

With its narrow 12 cm / 4.7 in silhouette, LIA XS brings color and character to smaller spaces without overwhelming them.

Beside a window, between two openings, next to a mirror or bed, in an entryway or hallway, it can transform a small section of wall into a space of its own.

Its proportions may be compact, but Red Wine is anything but discreet: its rich colors give it the presence of a true wall sculpture.

As every element is individually shaped by hand, slight variations in shape and dimensions may naturally occur.

Entirely handmade in Portugal

Each medallion is individually shaped, finished, glazed and fired in my studio in Portugal, without the use of molds.

The organic edges, subtle irregularities and variations created during firing are an integral part of each piece.

Reactive glazes are particularly unpredictable: the Plum medallion may reveal slightly different markings, nuances and effects with every firing.

Your LIA will remain true to the Red Wine palette and overall aesthetic, while being genuinely one of a kind.

Installation

LIA XS comes ready to install with its decorative gold-tone wall mount and suitable screw.

You will simply need to choose a wall anchor suitable for your wall type.

Love Red Wine but looking for something larger ?

The XS format was specifically designed for narrower spaces, but the Red Wine palette can also be adapted to a larger composition.

The medallions can be created in S, M or L sizes, or the entire composition can be redesigned to suit your space.

The glazes used for Red Wine may naturally develop variations in color, texture and pattern from one firing to another.

These variations are not imperfections: they are part of the handmade process and make every Clay’Milie piece unique.
