Handmade ceramic wall sculpture with metallic and mirror-like reflections

Aurora Metal is a handmade ceramic wall sculpture defined by an especially expressive draped form and a striking metallic glaze with an almost liquid, mirror-like finish.

Its surface shifts between silver, graphite, smoky tones and a deep cool brown base, becoming almost black in some areas. Depending on the light and viewing angle, the glaze reveals metallic, iridescent and mirror-like effects.

A piece that never looks exactly the same twice.

A sculpture full of movement

Aurora Metal is characterized by an intentionally intense drape, with deep folds, curves and flowing movement.

The glossy reflective surface contrasts with the raw, textured edges, which are deliberately left visible to highlight the handmade process and the ceramic material itself.

This contrast between the organic, almost textile-like form and the precious metallic surface gives Aurora Metal a very distinctive presence: sculptural, contemporary and slightly raw.

Dimensions may vary slightly from one sculpture to another, as each Drapée is individually shaped by hand.

A unique piece, even when made to order

The sculpture shown in the photographs is the piece currently available.

Once it is sold, future Aurora Metal sculptures will be created especially to order.

I will preserve the same glaze, spirit, overall proportions and expressive sense of movement, but the folds, contours and glaze reactions will naturally be different each time.

No mould is used.

Each Aurora Metal therefore becomes a new interpretation of the sculpture: recognizably part of the same universe, but impossible to reproduce exactly.

The Aurora Metal glaze

This glaze is particularly reactive.

Depending on the firing and the light, it can reveal almost mirror-like silver areas, graphite tones, darker metallic reflections or hints of its cool brown base.

In indoor light, the metallic reflections usually become more dominant, giving the surface an almost mineral depth.

These variations are an essential part of the piece and make every firing unique.

Each Drapée is shaped, worked, glazed and fired individually in my studio.

No two Aurora Metal sculptures will ever be exactly alike.
